1. For infrastructure construction
Because foundry sand is essentially natural sand mixed with a small amount of impurities and its physical properties have changed, it is the most common resource utilization idea to replace natural sand for infrastructure construction, and it is also the main research direction at home and abroad. Examples include mixing cement, controlled low-strength backfill (or "flow filler"), replacing some of the additives in asphalt, producing prefabricated building blocks, etc., both clay sand and resin sand waste sand have been reported. Among them, most of the research is that foundry waste sand is used to partially replace fine aggregate to mix cement. A large number of studies have shown that it is feasible to replace a certain proportion of natural sand with waste foundry sand, and it is feasible to replace natural sand in different mixed cement experiments. lower, longer service life.
2. Used to make bricks and other materials
It is also the resource utilization idea of replacing natural sand with foundry waste sand, which can be used for brick making. In foreign countries, the experiment of using the mixture of electric arc furnace slag and foundry waste sand to replace 30% of raw materials to fire clay bricks (red bricks) has been successful. There have also been reports of using foundry waste sand to make bricks in China, such as making autoclaved bricks and steam-free bricks. 3. For the manufacture of ceramic or glass materials

4. Used to manufacture other new materials
There are also some innovative applications of foundry waste sand in the research stage, such as the use of foundry waste sand as one of the additive components of artificial soil for agricultural production, as composite photocatalyst aggregates to degrade dye wastewater, or into ceramic beads to induce Photo-Fenton reaction degrades refractory organics, and is used in the synthesis of chemical raw material cordierite (Mg2Al4Si5O18).
